We specialize in hosting Appetizer Buffets and Full-Service Cocktail Parties for groups of 30-200 in a relaxed, casual environment. If you are looking for something more custom, we may be able to accommodate your request depending on the date and time of your event.

Upstairs Main Bar
This space has hi-top tables with stools, and can be combined with the Oak Room and/or the Chestnut Room to accommodate up to 125 guests.

Located upstairs, this room overlooks
Chestnut Street and, has hi-top tables with backed-stools. This space can be booked alone or with the Upstairs Main Bar area to accommodate larger groups.

Located Upstairs, this oak-paneled room overlooks west 7th Street and has with hi-top tables and stools. This space can be booked alone or with the Upstairs Main Bar area to accommodate larger groups.

Food & Beverage
Our Party Appetizer Menu offers a wide variety of selections. It works well for all types of gatherings, allowing guests to mill about and eat at their leisure. We will gladly assist you in determining the number of appetizers needed for your special occasion. Click HERE to see our current offerings.
Full-Service Cocktails (Hosted or Cash Options)
Our full-service bar offers beverages by the individual pour or bottle. We do not sell kegs or offer any beverages at reduced prices.
Host Bar: The host determines what beverage guests will be offered on the host's tab. If a party host wishes to provide drink tickets to their guests, they must provide the tickets and let us know what they can be redeemed for.
Cash Bar: Guests pay for their own beverages.
Add a tray of our homemade brownies or pumpkin bars to your buffet table! Cakes purchased elsewhere may be brought in, with a $50.00 fee. Plates & utensils will be provided.
Please Note: menu selections and food/beverage prices are subject to change and will be confirmed one week prior to your reservation.
One guest check for food and beverage will be provided. We do not provide separate food and beverage tabs unless special arrangements are discussed and approved. The guest check will automatically include 8.875% food sales tax and 11.375% liquor sales tax. We will be happy to calculate 20% gratuity for your convenience and additional gratuity is always appreciated.
Fees & Minimums
There is a $550 room fee to rent a single room and a $650 fee to rent our second level privately (groups of 100-130) which must be paid in advance before the booking is confirmed. The room is not confirmed to be held until your room fee is paid. You can either call or pay with your credit card in person Monday through Friday between the hours of 11 am and 3 pm. The room fee may be refunded if we are notified of a cancellation at least 30 days prior to the date of the function. Food and beverages minimums vary based on the day of the week and the season.
Set-Up, Decorations, Signs, & Banners
All set-up/decorations must be approved in advance and access to the booked space is allowed no sooner than one-half hour prior to the event to facilitate this. We don't allow candles, confetti, sequins or items to be hung on our walls. Balloons must be weighted down and removed at the end of the function. We do not accept deliveries of balloons, flowers or any decorations. Host must be present one-half hour prior to the event and/or bring items with you. Guests are not allowed to rearrange the tables in the rented spaces. Any variations of table arrangements must be approved, in advance, and detailed instructions will be included on the party worksheet for our staff.
Cakes & Desserts
Cakes or other desserts may be brought in with prior approval. Host must provide all decorative plates, napkins & flatware for self-serving. If McGovern's provides the set-ups, a $50.00+ fee will be charged. We do not accept delivery of any cakes or desserts. Host may arrange to have the items brought in one-half hour prior to the event.
The person booking the reservation will be the primary contact person throughout the planning process unless we are informed otherwise. We do not ask for credit card information in advance, but do require the name of the person who will be responsible for payment of any hosted portion of the tab. Multiple credit card payments must be approved in advance. The person providing the credit card must present the credit card at the start of the event to the bartender and must be present to sign the credit card voucher at the end of the function unless a designee is assigned. Any exceptions to this must be approved by McGovern's in advance. We require full payment at the end of the function and do not offer billing services. We do not accept checks but welcome cash, American Express, VISA, MasterCard and Discover.
Private party requests, reservations and details are communicated via email or telephone. Due to the large number of private party requests and reservations we are unable to personally meet with all hosts. Photos of private rooms can be viewed above. Once a party is booked, a worksheet is prepared detailing food, beverage and other specifics. This worksheet will be emailed for host approval and used by our staff on the day of the event. We ask that details be finalized 5 - 7 days prior to the scheduled event.
Please note that while we try to honor specific room requests, we reserve the right to change the booking to a different space based on events and other circumstances out of our control.
The host booking the reservation is responsible for any damages that may occur to the property of McGovern's. In the event that damages do occur, a credit card will be held until payment of damaged property is recovered and legal action may be taken.
